Translating office emails 101:
“Kind Regards” – Default.
“Regards” – I hate you.
“Have a wonderful day” – I really hate you.
“As per my previous email” – READ. THE. DAMN. EMAIL.
“This is a gentle reminder that…” – This is not a gentle reminder. Get your s*** together.
“Moving forward” – I’m so sick and tired of you doing this time and time again, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.
"It was my understanding that..."- You messed up, and I'm about to pull out a list of old emails showing you why you're wrong.
“Sorry for the lack of clarity” – Sorry you can’t read.
“We are going to have to” – You are going to have to.
"Please see below" - entire email chain attached to clarify something that I don't have the patience to deal with and shouldn’t have to explain yet again
"Thanks in Advance" - I've thanked you, so you kind of have to help me now, unless you are a terrible person.
“Hi [Name]” – Default.
“[Name]” – You are in for a whole world of pain with this email.
